Moving to Provo for the very last time

We moved back to Provo for the very last time on August 27th. I really didn't think this day would come. Not that I want it to pass quickly, you just never think that school is actually going to end. I guess I should stop acting like our two year of an MBA compares to becoming a doctor but still. The end is here.

Ethan went down to Provo on the 25th for orientation while Kelsey and I stayed in Bountiful getting things situated up there. While we were apart for a few days, Ethan would send Kelsey and I pictures like this to help pass the time. Kelsey loved them.

Ethan went to go get his hair cut and the lady asked how he wanted it done. He said that he wanted to look hip and this is what he got. He loves it and I think its pretty awesome myself.

And this is where I need to respectfully bow out because Ethan did EVERYTHING in regards to the move. He rented everything, organized the help, literally loaded the truck all by himself (literally by himself) unloaded the truck, cleaned, fixed scooters, got addresses changed, got us food, and so much more. On top of all that he also did work and school. He is amazing. I love him so much. He never once complained and just did what he felt like was helpful to the family.

Not to belittle everything he did, Ethan did get really really really tired! I found him like this multiple times through out the moving process. He would just get so tired and stop. 

Because we had stuff stored in so many basements and storage units, it took a while to finally get all of our stuff in order. It also took a while because we had gotten rid of so many things along the way and needed to replace them like a table and chairs, a couch, and night stands just to name a few. The work just never seemed to stop so we made sure that along the way we still enjoyed our last few ounces of summer.

Life eventually settled down and it even feels as if we have a routine down. Its nice to be back in such a little town like Provo. Being second year, we also had the advantage of not really having to make friends: we just all moved back from our internships so we can now hang out with each other. We even moved to the same ward so we know all the same people. The second year is already going so much smoother and faster than the first year. I just know our time at BYU will fly and will sadly come to an end too soon.

One of our favorite perks about being back in Provo is obviously the All Sports Passes. Its sad to think that this is our last year of being able to have them.  We try to attend one game of every event but we go to very football game. I have become a little less die hard and stay home for the rainy/cold games because its just not worth it to me any more. 

On September 11th Ethan and I went to the home opener with some of our very best friends the Johnson's. The boys sat by each other and talked about the game  and I sat by Elisa talking about,  well everything really. Hannah was a saint and offered to watch Kelsey so we were able to go just the 2 of us. Since it started later it got really chilly towards the end but I was happy because that meant that I got to wear all my cool BYU fall stuff early. 

In honor of September 11th, the student section turned paper into a giant flag and there was a flag painted on the middle of the field. The players also had camo on different places on their uniforms. I think there was a fly by as well but we were a tad late and missed the very beginning. My favorite part was at half time when a deployed solider surprised his family and ran out onto the field where they were standing after not seeing them for 9 months. His wife and kids were so excited. They were genuinely surprised too. It was adorable.  We were talking though and some of the students were like 3 or something when 9/11 happened!! They don't have memories of it! They just learned about it from history books! Isn't that so weird to think about.

Ethan and I have been to a lot of football games together but September 11th 2014 was hands down the most comfortable game I have ever been to because of these bad boys!!!!

Ethan's siblings know him so well. They all pitched in and got him stadium chairs for his birthday! BEST! PRESENT! EVER!!!! I'm pretty certain we didn't stand up once the whole game. We were so comfortable! Can I also add that we felt awesome. I love our new stadium chairs!

Because of the ASP, we decided to go to the womens soccer game. Its just such a cheap way to spend time together. We love it. And since we live so close, its so easy and convenient to go. Kelsey enjoys them too. We only ever go for about a half, but we still have a great time. The night we went was the first home opener so we got free t-shirts and free popsicles! We had a very happy two year old! It will be very hard to not have ASPasses in the years to come. They really are our source of entertainment while we are in school.

Since that night we have also gone to the BYU/Utah volleyball game and the BYU/ Gonzaga volleyball game as well as the BYU/Virginia football game. Kelsey loves the volleyball games because she loves seeing, not touching or being near, but seeing Cosmo, running up and down the bleachers in the Field house and singing the Cougar song. She asks me to sing the Cougar song like every day multiple times a day. She always jumps in at the Raw Raw RawRawRaw Go Cougars! part. Its so cute how much she already loves BYU. Sometimes she calls it Bayou, but when she actually says Byu it's the cutest thing.

Last first day of school

I couldn't let the day go without a picture. The very last first day of school happened for this boy on September 3rd 2014! I'm so proud!

Happy 28!

Despite his efforts, Ethan turned 28. He is less than thrilled that he is so "old" but its true. He is now 28. I mean, not gonna lie, its kind of hard to believe myself considering I met him when he was 22 but still.
Ethan has the best birthday. Its always on a holiday weekend, its always around the start of football season, its always around the start of school, and its typically always warm. Unfortunately though because it is around the start of school I typically always forget. I don't forget his birthday but I forget that I don't have the whole month of September to plan. I have the whole month of August to plan for the first day of September. This is what I always forget. Also for the past 4 years or so, we have always been traveling or moving or going to school so its hard to do something special. I wish I was typing this as a lead up to prove that this was the year I finally made up for lost time, but its not. You'll have to ask him, but I think it was an okay day. Not great but fine.

In the morning we hiked to Bridal Veil falls and then played in the Provo river where upon Kelsey fell in the freezing cold water. Before she fell in she was loving it which is odd because she won't normally get wet, but maybe we are over that phase now.

After playing in the water we went to lunch at Red Robin which is kind of a tradition that we have for Ethan's birthday. Its not that he loves it we just went there the first birthday that we were dating and have gone ever since. Lunch was delicious, but after lunch we had to get back to unpacking and gathering all our belongings which were spread across the valley including Ethan and Uncle Kelly driving up to Daybreak to get our washer and dryer. Happy birthday right?! 

Once we hit a good stopping point for the day we had some friends over for a surprise birthday party. I have to confess. I actually told Ethan because he kept trying to plan work things for the night. Finally I just broke down and said "STOP PLANNING STUFF!!! PEOPLE ARE COMING OVER!" Luckily he laughed because I was running out of lies. Because of the holiday not very many people could come but we had the Johnsons and Harrisons over for cake and treats. 

This is the only picture I got but it pretty much sums up the joy we all felt for getting some cake and a break from unpacking. I love our friends.

Ogden Temple Open House

While we were staying with the Wings in Bountiful, Kelsey and I were able to attend the Ogden temple open house with Diana and Robert.  Ethan had to start orientation unfortunately so he had to miss it, but the rest of us had a really nice visit on that windy morning. I am so grateful that they went they took us. I really wanted to go, but didn't think that I would get tickets because we were in Chicago. I am also really grateful that Diana and Robert took us because Kelsey threw a FIT when they put the plastic booties on her feet. She wouldn't even stand up let a lone walk. Its no big deal, but because she did that I was left to carry her through the whole temple. I'm not that far along but I am already finding myself very short of breath especially upstairs. I was getting so tired carrying her and Diana and Robert noticed immediately. Without even asking (in a polite way :) they took Kelsey through out the whole temple. They were so cute with her too. They kept pointing out pictures and all the beautiful detail. Kelsey was still 2 and lost attention pretty quickly, but it was still really neat for me to get to watch.

Its amazing how different the Ogden temple now looks. It is a beautiful temple and on September 21st we got to attend the dedication which was another very special experience. I am so grateful for temples on this earth. I know with all my heart that they really are the house of the Lord and they because of what is done inside families can be together forever. That means everything to me in a world full of so much wickedness. I love the temple and will always work to make sure that I can enter its doors.

Family Reunion

When we got back from Chicago we wanted to see as many family members as we could. Luckily for us there was a Wing family reunion the same weekend that we got back. We got to see the whole Wing family in one weekend including Aunt Kay. The weekend was filled with lots of visiting, games, swimming in the blow up pool (which Kelsey actually did even though it was cold hose water!!!), and really good food. It was just mostly exciting to see Kelsey get so excited for her cousins. She loves all her cousins on both sides and asks for all of them by name. When she actually got to see Holden and Harper, she just couldn't contain the excitement. It was a great weekend.

Every picture was like this! No one would sit still long enough or look at the camera for a decent picture. Its amazing how cute they still are though. 

This is when Kelsey wouldn't even touch the slip-n-slide because it was too cold, but then Harps brought her a Popsicle so life got pretty good pretty fast
