Wrigley Field

 Tuesday June 24th we finally made it to Wrigley Field. Kelsey and I parked in the neighborhoods and then bussed over and Ethan met us there from work using the subway. Kelsey and I got there a tad early so we were able to take some pictures.

 Unfortunately while we were waiting for Ethan taking our pictures we saw this approaching in the distance.

 Well it hit and it hit hard. The game got delayed an hour or more and we had a toddler on our hands. We splurged and got some stadium food and let Kelsey  run up and down the bleachers.

 They finally uncovered the field at 8 which didn't give us much time to watch baseball but the stadium was really fun to be in.

 We didn't get to see much of the game but the stadium really was pretty cool. Since its the original its really tiny. They also still used the old school scoreboard which made it pretty fun.

 My favorite part about the stadium was the added bleachers ACROSS the street. The apartments across the street have built bleachers on them and you can buy tickets and sit up there. Its pretty awesome.

 With a bag of pretzels anyone can enjoy 3 minutes of baseball right?

We had to leave at 8:30 to catch the right bus which was a bummer because we didn't get to watch too much of the game. Once we left we walked around and got some last minute pictures, caught the bus and went home. 

 As we were leaving we realized that we didn't get a great family picture. Hopefully we will be able to make the time to go back and get one. I guess its a good thing though because Ethan still had his work clothes on so he would have looked kinda of silly.The ball park took this picture of us though coming in from the rain. Its not awesome, but its good.

Museum of Science and Industry

 Saturday June 21st we finally made it to Hyde Park to go to the Museum of Science and Industry. I say finally because before we left for Chicago we bought a pass to Thanksgiving Point in Lehi Utah. Thanksgiving Point is a member of the ASTC program across the nation. The ASTC program allows you to visit all museums that participate outside of your home state completely for free. Since we bought the pass in Utah, anything outside of Utah is free aka Chicago! Back to why I say finally. Thanksgiving point took 6.5 weeks to get us our passes! I called several times and talked to multiple people to finally get our passes. By the end of the 6 weeks, I finally got to talk to the head supervisor which in turn led to our passes being over nighted. She said they forgot them. Whatever, doesn't matter we got them. 
With our ASTC pass we can get into the Field, Planetarium, Children's on Navy Pier, MSI, and a couple other museums outside of the Chicago limits for free so yeah. Its a pretty great steal of us.

On Saturday June 21st we made it to the first floor of the museum! We totally are going back. Hands down the best museum I have ever EVER been to! It is every science project that you have ever wanted to do as a kid and more. They have demonstrations and tons of hands on stuff. Seriously the coolest! The museum is HUGE!! I couldn't capture the size, but its big enough to fit a full size train in the lobby, so yeah. Its pretty huge.

 The museum was especially cool for us because this summer they are showcasing their Disney exhibit. We love Disneyland and this was just fascinating! So many original pictures and pieces of art.

 They had a giant board where they played songs from movies and we couldn't keep Kelsey away.

 Maybe my favorite part was the costumes that they had on display. They had several complete with who wore them in what movie.  My favorite Jack Sparrow they had that Johnny Depp wore!

 After those sections they had a section to show how movies are made now since technology is so different followed by an Animation center where we got to learn how to draw Goofy!

 The rest of our time (on the first floor) was spent looking at trains, climbing in trains, walking down a western street, and doing science experiments.

 There was a toy making machine where you put your face in the machine and then they would put your face on the toy. Apparently Ethan was too big

 And apparently Kelsey was too small, or she just looked really dark in the lighting....

 The MSI was THE best museum I have ever been to ever. I loved it! I can't wait to go back and finish the rest of it. Its gonna be AWESOME!!!
