Alpine Loop

On October 11 we decided to take a drive along the Alpine Loop on our way up to Holden's birthday party.  This is something we have always enjoyed and we wanted to make sure it happened before all the leaves changed or fell off the trees. I'm really glad we went when we did because a lot of the leaves had already fallen. We got caught the leaves at a great time.

About half way up the mountain we decided to stop and get out for pictures. The scenery was beautiful to us and to Kelsey it, well...

Luckily she slept for quite awhile so the rest of the day was really fun. She eventually woke up anyway and we were able to get some fun pictures.

As beautiful as the Alpine Loop is the drive is actually quiet terrible. Its a very narrow windy road all the way up and all the way down. It feels as though the cars on the other side of the road never give you enough space. Its kinda of nervous driving, but Ethan did really well. It was just really nice when we got to stop and get out.

As we got closer to the summit we stopped again and went on a little hike. It was so much colder at the top than we expected. Kelsey still had a great time, but man it was chilly up there.

What I loved about the summit was that the leaves hadn't really fallen yet so ALL the trees still had beautiful yellow leaves. It looked much different than the first time we stopped.

In other news Kelsey loves to read stories with Grandpa, playing with her Halloween window stickers, and eating popcorn.
