One rainy day we went to City creek and walked around to experience the expandable roof that they have. It was as cool as you would expect from an expandable roof.
While at City Creek, we spent a LOT of time at the Disney store, got ready to cheer for the Cubs, and got to see Roberts new office. It was a rainy afternoon, but it turned out to be a good one.
On our way to have dinner with the Jenkins, we finally got to stop at the Salt Lake City cemetery (another bucket list item for me). It was pouring by the time we got there so we had to look at headstones from the car, but it all worked out because I completely underestimated the size of the cemetery and didn't come prepared with a map AND all the famous people have GIANT head stones that are very spotable from the road (yes that is the word that I am choosing to use).
Rudy is not a prophet but I still thought it was hilarious! I couldn't resist the pic
Another rainy day we decided to hike by the Bountiful temple in between storms. We thought the black clouds in the sky were blowing away but found out quickly that they were definitely coming to us full of a fresh new storm. Opps. Our hike was cut short, but regardless was very fun. The rain made everything so green looking that we didn't really mind the rain falling down. It was so beautiful!! And in addition to that Kelsey loves being outside regardless of the weather so it was a win win. On the way home we stopped at Dick's to get some bread and the heavens opened. I mean OPENED!!! It was POURING buckets: flash flood status. We thought Kelsey would enjoy playing in the rain even if it was that heavy so we let her stand outside for like 2 seconds, only to learn that she is in fact normal and hates standing in a torrential down pour like the rest of us.
The rain also gave us a lot of time to play with play dough in the mornings,
visit with Grandpa in the evenings....
and work on lots of puzzles in between
