Rooster rolls and Roosters rolls

Madison is so wonderful. She will be 6 months in a few weeks and I refuse to believe that. She is such a mellow baby; so happy, so go with the flow, so smiley. The biggest difference that we notice between Kelsey and Madison is this: Madison smiles at the drop of a hat but only Kelsey can get her to laugh where as Kelsey would laugh at everything and never smile. Two very happy girls who choose to show it in different ways.
I remember being really nervous to have Madison right before she was born. How was I going to love her as much as I loved Kelsey? How would I find the time to bond with her and hold her? How would I know what she needs and likes and wants? Oh how silly I was. I am so grateful Madison is in our family and especially in my life. There have been so many moments during this stage of life where I just want to quit and look at Madison with tired eyes and she just smiles back. She is such a ray of sunshine. I love her so much.

Right now she can do lots of fun tricks.
She sits like a champ, LOVES the water, can roll onto her stomach, holds up her head, has starting eating solids, sleeps like a champ, thinks Kelsey is everything, sleeps from about 7-6, sits in grocery carts car seat free!!!,  is super happy in the mornings, loves to play with toys, has this really breathy laugh that you can't help but laugh with, and my personal favorite when she flaps her arms so much that she literally starts to scoot across the floor. Madison is my ball of squishy joy. I want time to slow down so I can enjoy ever last second of her.

 "Mom!Come look!"....

"surprise!" Kelsey literally drug Madison under the bed and she loved ever minute of it

So she has a lot of hair but its all on top. When her headbands do this its pretty hilarious

i put her in the middle of the ring pillow and then I turned around 5 minutes later...

Minion Movie

Aunt Kay loves movies. Kelsey has never been to a movie theater. The combination was too perfect.
On July 11th we took Kelsey to see the Minion movie with Aunt Kay. Maybe the worst movie I have ever seen in my entire life, but Kelsey had so much fun. She got a booster, popcorn, pizza (before the movie)  and more screen time in a day than she ever gets. Life was pretty grand.

Seattle

Ethan had to go to a training in Seattle from July 13th- July 17th. It was a long week but we decided to make it a fun week ie spend as much money as we want on anything that we want. We ate out, we played with friends, we slept over at Aunt Kays, we swam, we shopped, we stayed up late, watched too much tv, ate too much junk food, didnt' exercise, went to IKEA, and did lots of other fun things. The girls were so good and the week really did go fast, but it was nice to have Ethan come home. The night that Ethan came home Kelsey literally sang "I'm so glad when daddy comes home" over and over and over until she fell asleep. It was the cutest thing I've ever heard.

Ethan met up with Dallin Salmon while in Seattle
Ethan basking in the 75 degree weather

While Ethan was gone Madi learned to sit up and Kelsey drew lots of pictures
One day while I was cleaning out my closet, Kelsey wanted me to trace her hand so I did. I went back into my room only to hear a muffled "Mom. Come trace my face." I walked out to find this...

While Ethan was gone I finally took the time to go through my closet and do my favorite thing in the whole world. DI STUFF!!! It took hours but I loved every minute of it. After I did that I went shopping and finally spent the birthday money that I didn't want to spend on clothes while I was pregnant in December. We headed to Target.
Little did I know an adventure was forming.
While inside Target, I was grabbing stuff to try on when I thought I heard a rumble from Madison who was sitting in her car seat. I went to go check on her and without being gross there was poop EVERYWHERE!!! I don't know how this girl did it but there wasn't an ounce of clothing front or back there wasn't a spot on the carseat or her toys not covered. Okay what do I do?
I threw everything in the cart, told Kelsey to hold on and we ran, literally, to the baby section to find the first cheap but cute thing that I could find. Kelsey grabbed a cute dress and luckily it was the right size and 7 bucks. We grabbed the dress and ran to the check out stand where I had to wait for like 3 people to check out. I bought the dress while explain that I wasn't shop lifting the other articles of clothing in my cart, and sprinted to the bathroom all the while Kelsey running after me. Luckily no one was in the bathroom so we were able to use all the room (and sinks) we need to clean up. After 20 minutes everything with Madison was taken care of and I started to leave when Kelsey goes "Mom. I need help" Kelsey who at the time was struggling with stomach issues had a little problem herself that we needed to take care of. Finally after about 30 minutes total in the bathroom we left to go clean the carseat and finished shopping. Oh the joys of shopping with kids. I don't know how, but some how I managed to laugh my way through this one :)

Heres the dress Kelsey found. Everytime Madi wears it I think of our little adventure

Summer fun

I'm not a huge fan of summer because I hate the heat.Jokes on me... I live in Phoenix. With time we are all starting to adjust to the heat and now think that its nice when its 100 and even comfortable at 95. Yesterday I asked Ethan, "Is it cooling down or am I used to the heat because it was only 106 today and we played outside" I understand now why Arizonians are so crazy.

Summer is flying by and we are loving Arizona. We wish we could stay here forever. Instead of a play by play I just wanted to do a massive photo drop to highlight the fun we are learning to have.

In a major nutshell Phoenix is hot and we love Arizona!

Lots of water fights at night

Poolside and Popsicles

when your kids wake up with the sun (at 5am) you see a lot of sunrises. Now I finally know how Juliana feels. I'm so sorry Julie!

 Swimming at Aunt Kays

Breakfast picnics at 7:30 before it hits 100

 Family yoga

 More water fights
 Too many scorpions
       Cami 6, scorpions 0

The temperature might look ridiculous but it really isn't too bad. Its only really bad when it gets in the teens, now THATS hot!
This was at 10:30 at night!

Summer produce prices make my heart melt!

Playing with the new neighbors who we LOVE!!!!

LOTS of Aunt Kay time thankfully

New cell phones for mom and dad. A part of me died on August 1 as I said goodbye to my dumb phone but I do love my new phone

4th of July

The 4th of July might be my favorite holiday but then we moved to Phoenix. 4th of July= 107 at NIGHT!! Its safe to say that people around here don't really care about celebrating the 4th.
We did our best and still had a fun time but it definitely was not a parade, BBQ,  and firework show 4th that we grew up with. Way too hot for that.

We had breakfast with Aunt Kay in Phoenix, swam at Aunt Kays house in the afternoon, went to a potluck at the Browns house, and then watched fireworks at the Spring training fields. It was a full day and a fun day.

Some notable points include:
1. Ethan's annual reading of the Deceleration (Kelsey started yelling STOP! Please stop! which was hilarious)
2. Getting a manicure with Aunt Kay while the girls napped at Aunt Kays house (the first time in about 20 years. I felt so girly and loved it)
3. Playing with the underwater camera at Kays

4. Running out of gas while watching the fireworks so Ethan had to go get gas at a sketchy gas station missing the fireworks (major bummer for us and him. We were at least with the Browns. He was by himself)

5. Kelsey yelling I LOVE DISNEYLAND when the fireworks started

It was not a sad 4th of July, but definitely different than years past
