Mommy's girl

Kelsey is starting to show us a little bit of her personality and it is just getting so fun. When she gets really excited she will flap her arms really fast and squeal. Its like she is swimming in the air.  Most recently she has started to dance! I love it so much because I love to dance and I can't wait for the day that we will dance together. Anyway, Kelsey will dance to ANY music that she hears. Our phones, the tv, actually music, movies, her toys, the microwave, and so much more. Sometimes she even dances to the tune that is in her head. I just love it so much! I tried to capture it on camera and naturally she got a little gun shy, but you will get the basic idea. It is so much fun to watch her.

7 months

I just love Kelsey so much. She was 7 months on January 2nd and our life is so much better with her around. She is really starting to get fun too! She talks all the time, really plays with toys, and smiles and interacts with us. We just love our Kelsey. It is especially fun because she can sit on her own, but can't crawl yet so when I put her somewhere I know exactly where I am going to find her when I am done. I am a little scared for a mobile baby, but I heard they can be fun too :)

Happy New Year!

New Years Eve was a blast as usual, but this year was especially fun because we had 5 of the 6 siblings in town. It was great to be with so many family members.

Post Surgery

On January 2nd Ethan got his cast off and is not sporting a soft removable cast! He loves it and so do I. He can do so much more on his own AND he had an allergic reaction to the hard cast and so to get that thing off was a huge blessing. His arm is still pretty gross and still hurts him a bit, but he is able to move it so much easier now

Dead Mouse

Kelsey has been sick the past few nights meaning she wakes up about every 50 min or so to cough or cry. Sad but not the point. The other night at 4:30 she woke up again and this was the 8th time that I had to try to snot out her nose. (I promise this is relevant) Anyway, I was super tired and not really with it. I pulled her out of her bed, blew her nose, calmed her down and went to go put her back in her bed and what did I find.. A DEAD MOUSE!!! I could have bet my life that a dead mouse was in the middle of my daughters crib. Like any rational tired mom, I started crying and woke up Ethan. He grabbed a bowl, covered the mouse, tied Kelsey's sheets around the bowl and took it out to the trash. While he was doing that, I was looking everywhere for the family of mice because mice never come alone. I couldn't find anything so I put Kelsey in our bed and we all went back to sleep (well kinda). In the morning, I noticed that Kelsey was missing one of the dark purple socks that she went to bed with Ethan went out to the trash, pulled out our bowl untied the sheets and some how during the night, the dead mouse turned into Kesley's purple sock!  I really hate mice, but if all mice are magic mice I might reconsider.

Ethan and I had a pretty good laugh over this one! All you tired moms understand :)

Surgery

On Thursday December 20th Ethan had wrist surgery. We went there at 10:30 am, did all the paper work and such and then he went into the operating room by 11:30. The procedure was about an hour and 20 mins and so I went shopping at a Sears that was closing down the street just to pass the time.
When I went to the waiting room for surgery patients, I had to wait about 45 min until I got to go see him. While I waited I just fed Kelsey and kept her occupied. It was a long day for everyone, but Kelsey did exceptionally well considering the fact that she missed 2 nap times!
Any way, they called me back and we got to go see Ethan. It was kinda hard to see him lying in the bed all drugged up and out of it. His mind was still as sharp as ever though which was comforting. When he first saw me he said, "I've always wanted to know what it felt like to have a perfect ulna... and now I do" He had to whisper because he was so tired, but it was hilarious. He was telling me a funny story about when he was even more out of it. The nurse said "I'm giving you Percocet, have you ever had this" and he said "Only when I am really depressed!" He said she laughed but he doesn't really remember.
After he drank a little bit, he asked me where Jabari Parker (a basketball player) chose to play college. Oh Ethan! Even after surgery, your mind is still on sports. We were in the recovery room, which was a giant room with curtained off sections with tons of other patients in their respected curtains, for about 30 mins. I ran down the hall to get his prescription and then they were like okay, he is well enough. Time to pack up and go! They seriously give you like no time to gather your thoughts! They are so about the in and out. I mean he didn't need to stay but they kicked us out so fast the doctor didn't even have time to come see us. He had to call on the phone and apologize!
Anyway, everything is going well and he said his pain is minimal which is a blessing. Now the fun part is helping him do everything. I am so happy to serve him, but it just reminds me how much I DONT want twins! I am basically taking care of two very dependent people and let me tell you, it has been one day and I am exhausted! O.co Santa

 Overstock had Santa come and visit and so we decided to take Kelsey. It was really fun because she is not into being scared about strangers yet and so we just put her on his lap and she tried to pull off his beard. It was fun seeing Santa, but my favorite part was dressing up Kelsey in a Christmas outfit and taking pictures in line. She was super smiley the whole time, but towards the end she was done with smiling... although those are some great pictures too.
Ethan's sister Hannah was spending the day with us and so we were able to bring her along as well. The whole event just got me excited for how fun Christmas is going to be from now on!
