January

I always have mixed feelings about January. I hate starting over when it comes to some things and some times I get over whelmed with resolutions, but I also love the feeling of starting over. Nothing like filling in a completely blank calendar.  But with the weather feeling like spring, January just felt different this year. It still was a little slow as people gear up for the new year, but it was fun to have it so warm. We try to get outside everyday, try to find new things to explore, and try to find at least one golf ball a day.
In an effort to prepare for the incoming visitors, we are going to just do a giant January post dump cake style for the rest of the month. We already hit most of the highlights anyway: sunbeams, parade, Wing visitors, and fireworks.

How I've been making dinner most of her life

BYU beat Gonzaga in Spokane.
"Sending them a message"

We visited the Japanese Gardens in downtown Phoenix. Not as cool as I hoped but outside and warm.

My favorite time of year... sorting the girls clothes
We got a new vacuum. Boom goes the cannon!
I ran in the BattleFrog Obstacle Race with Lindsay
Madison discovered a slide and is pretty sold that its awesome
Madison showing off her teeth and walking skills
Kelsey encouraging the disgruntled golfer
"You did it! Nice job! I'll see you tomorrow!!"

We don't travel often but when we do, its always in style

These are my favorite pictures of the girls. They are all blurry, but they are the best depiction of how life really is around here. Nothing but forced love and giggles intermixed with a few screams and fights.

January is the coldest month in Arizona and some mornings we really felt it. I guess it was so cold we had to all eat on the counter. That makes sense.

Ethan hosted a NCAA football championship for the elders quorum

. Their conversations were hilarious to me.

There have been some really rough day emotionally around here lately. Every time I feel myself getting down, we ride over to the golf course and either look for balls or watch golfers. It doesn't solve my problems all the time, but it does remind me that we have beautiful weather, tons of sunshine, and so many blessings that we can't even count.
I mean its January and this is what we are doing!!

We have actually babysat a TON in January. I need to start saying no
This is Kelsey's "house." She builds it everyday and everyday she lays out and tries on every costume in sight.

"Mom, today we learned about Hercules in Primary"
I tried fresh grapefruit for the first time and Madison took a bottle for the first time. It was a big month

 84 golf balls people! 84!!!

Matching jammies. Madison was pouting but it was still so cute

For school "field trips" we went to the Phoenix aquarium and the park

This is Madison's new favorite game. It was cute at first but now its less fun.

We discovered Dubsmash which is nothing but the funnest time waster in the whole world

Kelsey and Ethan took the scouts to the capitol.
