Easter 2013

Easter weekend was GORGEOUS!! Both days were in the 70s and it was just beautiful. on Saturday we died eggs with this new marble dye and it took about 4 min it looks really cool at the end. We wanted Kelsey to help and, shocker, she bit right through the egg and started to chew on the shell. We spent Easter enjoying the afternoon with Ethan's family and then spending the evening with my family at the Nelson's. We ate at both places, and both meals were delicious. I have to say that the Wing ham was MUCH better than the Nelson ham. I can say that because I made the ham and although it was not bad it was not great and the Wing ham was great! After our first dinner and pictures we went to our second dinner and Easter egg hunt. This year Ethan and I got promoted from the "finders" group to the "hiders" group all because of Kelsey. Also during the egg hunt Natedog gave Kelsey her first nickname- Kelbawooda!
Although Kelsey endure everything well, she could have cared less about our Easter traditions. She crawled towards the eggs when we asked and wore the clothes we asked, but there has never been a day where Kelsey smiled less than she did on Easter. Its okay thought, we still love her very much and know that some day she will laugh at the pictures.

She doesn't sleep with us, but she had a really bad cough and so I brought her in at 7 and she slept with no cough until 9. It was a glorious morning

Liberty Park

Saturday March 30 was beautiful and so we decided to go to Liberty Park. We started by just walking around, then we play bocce ball, and then Ethan noticed that the basketball courts were open and so he ran over to shoot some hoops. While we were shooting, the guys playing on the other court needed another player and so they asked Ethan if he would fill in. You should have seen this game! It was Ethan a red head and 7 brothers. They kept calling him red and Ethan couldn't have been happier!  He just loves basketball so much and has not been able to play because of his wrist so it was fun to see him play again. It was such a gorgeous day that Kesley and I walked around the park just enjoying the sunshine. After about 45 min, Ethan had finished 3 games and we went to push Kesley on the swings. she LOVED it! Thought it was the funniest thing she had ever done in her short little life. After the swings, we headed back to the car to find out that we had been there about 3 hours. It was a perfect spring afternoon.

March Madness

The NCAA college basketball tournament is kinda a big deal at our house. We both love to make brackets and for 3 straight days watch nothing but basketball. It is just really fun. This year we had Kelsey make a bracket by selecting objects and designating each object as a team. Which ever object she picked that would be the team that advanced. This actually took a few days because she started getting upset that we would take her toys once she picked one. She also got tired because there are 64 teams in the tournament and that's just a lot to think about. All in all she had a great time and loved watching all the games with us.

In other news March has been a fantastic month just flying by. On one of the nice days we had a few weeks ago, we went and helped my grandma get her yard ready for spring and it just felt great to be outside working in the yard. I know I am my father's daughter when I can honestly say that I love doing yard work. I mean its not Disneyland fun obviously, but there is nothing like working hard.
Kelsey turned 9 months on March 2nd and learned how to stand. Basically I have come to learn that the baby proofing I did already meant nothing compared to what I have to do now with a standing baby. She still just loves to move and talk and I can't get enough of her. I seriously just love watching her all day.

Ethan and I are doing great too. Ethan got promoted to a new position at work and so now he is working with a new team but he is still very happy and pleased with his job. He is starting to get really excited for school though. He just loves BYU. I'm staying buy with Kelsey obviously, but I have also started to catch the Spring cleaning fever. there are so many projects that I want to organize and so much junk that I want to DI! It's because of this trait that I know that I am my Mothers daughter. My dad once said that my mom was only happy if she was giving/throwing something away and I am the same way! Lets just say, March has been good to us. The Wing home is very blessed and very happy.

Mobile

Last week, Ethan and I had the opportunity to go visit my parents up in Spokane. It was a laid back visit with lots of games, lots of talking, and lots of relaxing. It was especially nice because they haven't had the chance to see Kels since she was 3 months old. They got to see a whole new baby this time. While we were up there, with the help of her cousin Norah, Kelsey learned how to crawl. I was super nervous for this stage because obviously she can move now, but its not too bad. She is still so slow that I can normally get places before she can. One side affect that I did not expect is that now she follows me around and just screams because she wants me to hold her. I should be flattered that she likes me that much, but honestly who wants to literally be connected at anyone's hip 24/7?!   We are working on the separation anxiety which is part of the problem, but all in all this crawling thing is not too bad.

 Happy Valentines Day!

The Happiest Vacation Ever!

Ethan and I have been wanting to go to Disneyland ever since we got married and on January 29th we finally made it! I won't bore you with all the incredible details but we had an amazing time. Ever thing was perfect. We left a blizzard Tuesday morning the 29th and arrived to 65 degree weather and it only got warm. Kelsey slept both ways on the plane, we were able to check into our hotel early, the shuttle out of the airport was on time, our hotel was 1/2 mile from the park, our hotel was renovating their kitchen and so we got an all you can eat free breakfast at a little breakfast hut every morning, it never got colder than 65 (during the day) and to top it all off the longest we waited in line was 20 min. Because we had Kesley with us we were not able to ride the big rides together, but because we had Kesley we were able to stand in the single rider lines or do what is called a rider swap. One person stands in line and when they finish the ride, they get a pass that they give to the other person waiting. That person then takes the pass and goes through the exit of the ride and hops right on. If that was confusing, just know that we basically were never in line. It was wonderful. The weather was always sunny and 70 or more, and because we were in the park for 4 days we were able to take our time and enjoy everything, not just the rides. We saw shows, listened to music performances, and ate dinner with characters. On Friday night as we were walking out of the park we were a very sad couple. It was just very sad to see our vacation come to a close,  but we know that some time in our life we will have to take Kesley again so that she remembers. We are not complaining! We have already started the Disneyland fund again for the next time we go!

If you don't want details, here are some of our best pictures. We have like 200 more and 50 videos so it was really hard to narrow it down.
