24

I love my birthday and this year so no exception!! Ethan brought me breakfast in bed, we got to hear the heart beat of the baby, I got to talk to my friends and family, I had a surprise lunch by my sister in law and nephews, went to Red Robin and walked around temple square, and then got to have cheese cake!! Needless to say, it was a great day!!! We also got to get together with friends and make gingerbread houses the day before and I finished our stockings, which only took 3 years to imagine, 5 movies to cut, lay out, and glue, and only one burn. It was a great week!!! I just don't feel like posting a long post. here are pictures!

I Caught a Shirt

Before I begin this blog, there are a few important details that one should know.
1) I love BYU sports, especially basketball and football, in that order.
2) I attended BYU as a student for 5 years
3) Every sporting event, the cheerleaders throw t-shirts, candy, balls, etc into the crowd causing a massive mosh pit of students jumping, pushing, clawing, and elbowing to get the 5 dollar item that was thrown in the crowd. It is not about the prize, everyone could care less about the prize, it is about the feeling of knowing that of all the students in that mosh pit, you are the one that got the prize.
4) In my 5 years as a student I have attended 90 basketball games, 40 football games, 10 soccer games, and 20 volleyball games. That is a totally of 160 BYU events not including the other times that BYU threw a shirt into a crowd randomly on campus or at a show. PS when I say attend, I don't just mean, I went, I mean I stood in line, slept on pavement, woke up at 4 to get tickets, pushed people out of seats, and did some other things that may or may not be 100% honest, but were 100% necessary to express my BYU love.
5) My roommates and I decided freshman year that they only way we could graduate was if we won an intramural t-shirt (which I did in cross country) and caught a shirt at ONE of the 160 events that we attended (which I didn't).

Last night I went to the BYU Weber game with my little sister. Thanks to her I had a seat on the 8th row (which is about where I normally sat ps) Thanks to Hannah I had a ticket into the game, and thanks to the girl in front of me who was about 4'10, last night after 5 years of waiting, after 160 games, after hours and hours and hours waiting in line, after watching my neighbors catch the shirt, after shirts and balls bouncing off my face because I was looking the other direction (yes that happened 2 times), after having my husband put his hands in mine as the shirt landed in them so he would catch it instead of me to be funny (NOT FUNNY ALL 3 TIMES!!!!) I Cami Wing, with child, FINALLY HAVE MY OWN SHIRT!!!!

Did I scream at the top of my lungs? Yes. Did I maybe shed a tear? Of course! Did I call all my old roommates immediately? You bet! Did I explain to everyone around me the importance of this moment and literally say to them "You are so lucky to be witnessing this right now!" Oh most definitely. Will I save the shirt for the rest of my life and put it in a quilt someday? Certainly! But more importantly did I go home with my own shirt and now can finally feel like my 5 years of school meant something? ABSOLUTELY!!!!

This is not drama... this is passion

Thanksgiving

Too much great food, great company, football, resting, and then a movie at Uncle Doug's. Overall I'd say a great Thanksgiving Day.

Turkey Bowl

Thanksgiving was spectacular!!! We had a wonderful meal and our turkey turned out AMAZING!!! After the dinner, the dishes, and some resting time, we had a mini turkey bowl of our own. Nelsons vs Wings. Thanks to Karolyn we have some great pictures of the great event. PS The Nelsons won, as Skyler reminded us several times :)

Our Christmas House

We love our house this season. We are hoping that some snow will only add to the magic!!

Our first Turkey

This year for Thanksgiving Ethan and I are in charge or cooking the turkey. Because it is our first turkey we decided to make it a little harder than just the bag and decided to do a "bucket turkey" just like my sister Carolyn.
Bucket turkey: a whole lot of spices, a whole lot of different juices, and put that together in a 5 gallon bucket and let the turkey marinate for 5 days and THEN stick it in a bag in the oven for like forever!!! We are so excited to taste this bird!!!
We bought our turkey last Wednesday, let it thaw until Saturday, made the marinade and now the turkey is sitting in a 5 gallon bucket in our fridge until Thursday. Good thing we have a small family and don't need as much food.

Volleyball Champions

Ethan recently participated in the 13-stake volleyball tournament with the ward and they won! The whole experience was new to me, but they designated two buildings to play at and after "regular season games" (which seriously consisted of one because everyone kept forfeiting) they played like 5 games going back and forth between the two buildings. That was last week and then just last Wednesday night, they had to play 2 more teams for the championship. It was just a lot of fun to watch him in an intramural type setting again. They even got a prize... a candy bar or a bag :) He went with the bag.
